International relations is a Great Game, especially when The Art of the Deal is applied.
I would say to anyone who would listen that Trump will make no deal that does not advance U.S. interests first and foremost, and recent negotiations intentionally excluded Ukraine because—no matter what half-attentive MSM pundits and their copycats report—those negotiations were not about Ukraine.
They were specifically about sorting out US-Russian relations before engaging in peace negotiations. And it makes sense. Look at the third bullet point:

Some may choose to make a commotion over the perceived slight to Zelensky but those dramatics reveal only how intentionally blind the MSM is to true purposes, methods and goals. And it's just as well because the US hand is not being tipped.
As I've stated in the past, we can't know exactly what Trump will do or how, but whatever he does will be well planned and anticipate all possible Russian responses.
I'm certain peace will come soon and—whether by carrot or stick—the US will benefit from it in more ways than one.
