Anything would improve British cuisine, even cats, and every cat in Britain would have been eaten by now if the Brits understood that. But imported Haitians would also be eating Britain's sacred birds (Robins, Great Tits, Norwegian Parrots, Pigeons and the majestic Budgies) and Brits would never stand for that.Why not just import Haitians? Fewer cats and more migrants. Win win!

Sigh. This is why you fail, COL O. We are far left libs, my friend. That means we never look past the immediate result we are trying to achieve. We do not think about these alleged "unintended consequences" or "side effects" - we are Policy Experts (yes, capitalized) and therefore do not make mistakes. These 'mistakes' are actually features.
If bird populations decrease, we need to create commissions to study the problem, more gov't positions to investigate and monitor the problem, more laws and regulations to fix the problem, etc. All things lead to more government, more spending, and more complex rules for society to deal with. Win win WIN!
The Brits will stand for it - at this point, the modern Brit will stand for anything we do to them. They'll eventually eat bugs, own nothing, and love it.
